On this day, July 16, 1990 the parliament of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic declared sovereignty over the Ukrainian SSR.
It was the day that Kiev and Moscow separated; innocent days.
Had western governments come to assist Ukraine and the new Russian Federation might the world be a different place today?
