New Berlin archbishop

Heiner Koch, current bishop in Dresden-Meissen has been appointed Archbishop of Berlin.

Koch was born in Düsseldorf in 1954, studied theology at Bonn and was ordained a priest for the diocese of Cologne in 1980.

He was appointed an auxiliary bishop in Cologne in 2006 and moved to Dresden in 2013.
