In an address to the group the President spoke of how important it is to welcome the stranger.
He spent some time talking about the present global movement of so many refugees.
The President referred to the small but important work that the Irish Navy is doing in the Mediterranean and that shortly the LÉ Aoife will replace the LÈ Eithne.
