Do you not think you are being a bit harsh? I am not a soldier so I don't think that I would have the ability to say that all forms of military behaviour are cruel. Have you personal experience of cruelty in the military? I know a number of soldiers who would probably disagree with you.

Indeed, you may well be correct. It would have been more accurate to have said military foreign occupation.
