Figures released show that new car sales are down in January and February, year on year.
The reason we were given for the new number plate system was to increase car sales.
The same old management class have some belief that they can feed any nonsense to the all-believing and vulnerable public.
There has to be a lesson there.

the same old management class might argue that car sales would have been even worse if it were not for 131-KY-1 ...
Not being a soothsayer it is difficult to say anything about the hypothetical.
But on face value the new system is silly. Why not divide the year into 12, four, for that matter 365?
It is difficult to understand why a one or two would imporve sales.
Are car owners that ephemeral or superficial?
Also, the resources of the world are finite and this silly system is a waste of paint. and other material used.
I understood that it was to spread sales more evenly between the first and second half of the year.
Others might think it was simply to avoid the number 13 on its own.
