It's dangerous on a bicycle in Ireland

In 2006 there were 211 cycling injuries in the State. That figure jumped to 1,056 in 2018.

The Irish Times today gives these figures but points out they maybe be somewhat skewed as Garda figures in the delivery mechanism of collision records changed in 2014.

How Covid Dublin has changed. Last Monday it was physically possible to cycle up Grafton Street at 17.00.

In pre-Covid days, with pedestrian footfall it would simply not have been physically possible to cycle on Grafton Street.

Of courses it is illegal.
