Full marks to Irish Rail. At the entrance to Casement Station, Tralee there is a properly working and efficient sanitiser.
But not full marks for their digital destination board.
Yesterday evening at 18.34 this was the information that passengers were given. No mention of the delayed 19.05 Cork train. It was delayed 10 minutes due to track maintenance work. The later departure was announced on Irish Rail's website.
When it was politely mentioned to a member of staff that the board was a little out of date, he replied: "We are all out of date here".
He said it in a funny whimsical tone. A clever reply and totally disarming. The young man deserves promotion.
