The Rising 100 years later

The new year, 2016. The 100th anniversary of the Rising in Dublin.

In 1966 the State celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Rising. One of the features of that celebration was that CIE made a decision to place a claoímh solais on the front grill of all its buses in Dublin.

Remember it?

Where will you be for the 150th anniversary?

None of us knows.

Happy New Year, Michael.

We both will surely be pushing up the daisies by then. At least for my part I hope so.
