Best policy to deal with Donald Trump is to ignore him

Last March two weeks into the Iran war US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said that US attacks had “destroyed” Iran’s military and air defences, making it incapable of engaging in combat.

"Never before has a modern, capable military, which Iran used to have, been so quickly destroyed and made combat ineffective," Hegseth said during a press briefing with reporters.

What's the man saying today? Did no one have the courage to tell this silly person that he was talking nonsense? And then the swagger of him.

It has been announced that President Trump will be visiting Ireland in September.

Yes, the Irish President and Taoiseach are obliged to meet him but what about simply ignoring his visit; no demonstrations, minimum media coverage. No fuss at all.
