Was Vladimir Putin’s hand involved in Chechnya?

On this day, December 4, 2014 Islamic insurgents killed three policemen in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya. They later stormed an empty school and a pressoffice. Ten members of the security services were killed, 28 injured and another 10 insurgents killed.

Catherine Belton in her book ‘Putin’s People’ argues that Vladimir Putin’s hand was involved in the disturbances in Chechnya.
