BBC NEWS carried live the opening of Notre-Dame de Paris this evening.
It was truly an otherworldly event.
A little over five years since the infamous fire, and here it is open again for prayer.

The Magnificat that was sung this evening was the same Magnificat that was sung on August 26, 1944 to announce the liberation of Paris from German occupation.
Among those attending the opening ceremony in the great cathedral this evening was German President Hans-Walter Steinmeier with his wife Elke Büdenbender, she a Catholic, he a Protestant.
Right through the opening ceremony there were wonderful, prayerful signs of solidarity and camaraderie. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sitting close to US President-elect Donald Trump.
Dominican priest, Tom McCarthy will give the live commentary on RTÉ 1 tomorrow morning of the opening Mass in the cathedral.
