Remembering the Soviet disaster in Afghanistan

On this day, May 15, 1988 the Soviet Army began to withdraw its 115, 000 troops from Afghanistan. The military adventure was a seismic disaster for the Soviet Union.

It was in some ways the beginning of the demise of the Soviet Union.

Is it possible the Russians can be pushed back out of Ukraine? Yesterday US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a surprise visit to Kyiv. He assures the Ukrainian authorities that weapons were on their way. All the time Russia continues to advance but experiencing heavy casualties.
