Understanding words

In the Offertory Prayer of Mass today, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, the priest prays:
"... on account of her prevenient grace,......"

Will everyone in churches, where that word is used in prayer, understand what it means?

What does it mean?

Vernacular?

I am not in the least familiar with whatever prayer that is from but if I was in a quiz and asked the question I would say it referred to the immaculate conception. Think about it.
