I remember so well your great blog on your Free Travel Pass. Mine WAS due to arrive in the post this week for my 66th birthday on 9th October.
I had planned to go on a Day Trip to Rosslare to celebrate!
Alas, the postal strike has put paid to that plan.

Why not call Sligo? They may not have it in the post yet and they may have a system in operation whereby you can collect it at a local Social Protection office. The Department has said it is putting an alternative system into place for the delivery of Social Welfare cheques.
