The flavour of Ukip policy spreads across all society

Ukip romps home in Clacton and squeeze Labour in Heywood and Middleton. The former  Conservative MP Douglas Carswell won the seat for Ukip. He won over 52 per cent of the vote. In Heywood and Middleton the Ukip candidate was within 600 votes of winning a safe Labour seat.

The Conservatives have stopped calling them the Looney Party. This morning the Chairman of the party has referred to yesterday as an 'alarm clock moment'

Is it scary? Ukip seems to want to destroy so much of the great liberal advances of the last 40 years, including leaving the EU.

Is the Ukip phenomenon being mirrored step-by-step in the Catholic Church, in the Dominican Order?
