A 200 gramme bar of Cadbury Fruit and Nut in Lidl today costs €2.64. Same bar in SuperValu today is €2.00.
Surely that's an unacceptable price variation?

Of course everybody wants to shop carefully, and in our present financial situation it is also good to consider where the profits of our grocery shopping are going.
If people are looking for the cheapest products they probably shouldn't expect Aldi/Lidl to have prices lower than their competitors on wrapped items produced in Ireland/England. The real boon of these new outlets for the canny shopper has been in canned, bottled and vacuum wrapped products imported from mainland Europe, as well as products similar to leading brand names in Ireland, but not quite the same.
The competition between the stores for vegetable quality and range is not yet won I think.
