This picture is worth more than a thousand words

This picture appeared on the front page of The Irish Times yesterday.

nun has been given nine months to find a new place to live and worship after a judge accepted she had made a genuine effort to dismantle a hermitage she established without planning permission in Co Cork.

The picture is an interesting story about Ireland today.

But it tells even a better story of the state of the Irish Catholic Church today. A church that is broken, at war with itself and systemically dysfunctional.

This picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

No Photoshopping, nothing. It's right in front of our eyes and tells it as it is, perfectly done.
