The phenomenon of the Alive newspaper is most interesting. If it were an 'equivalent' zany 'left wing' or 'liberal' newspaper it would long ago have come to the attention of the Irish bishops. And they certainly would not have approved. How come no authority in the Catholic Church has criticised the material that appears in it? Where is the provincial and the council of the Irish Dominicans on this issue?
The newspaper publishes very unsavoury material. Most of its articles have a hate element to them. It is a mix of bigotry and zany material.
