On this day, Thursday, October 11, 1962 The Second Vatican Council began. It was the first ecumenical council of the Catholic Church in c does to 100 years.
Pope John XXIII, set the ball rolling. It concluded on December 8, 1965 under Pope Paul VI.
If all the ifs and ands made pots and pans.....
Where would the church be today if Saint Pope John had not set the ball rolling?
We'll never know.
It's interesting how a new generation who knows little or nothing about Catholic Ireland before Vatican II are now yearning to return to so much of bygone days.
The church right now is fortunate to have Pope Leo at the helm continue the work of John XXIII and Francis Number One.
