A student recalls the kindness of the late Fr Luke Dempsey

This is a comment sent to the blog today. It appears under Fr Luke Dempsey’s obituary, hence it would be lost to most readers.

Here it is as the blogpost for today:

My life was changed by Fr Luke [Dempsey].

When arriving to Rome for studies during a semester abroad, a flight delay left me stranded at the doors of the Angelicum because the office I needed was closed.

He kindly invited me in and gave me a place to stay until I sorted out my accommodation.

There, I met some lifelong friends and gained stability for the remainder of my time in Rome. What a man! May he rest in peace.
