Gerard McCarthy, a scholar and kind gentleman

The link below is to a story in The Irish Times digital version yesterday.

I sat beside Gerard McCarthy in second class in primary school and I can still remember him. I remember him as a kind and helpful little boy. One felt secure and protected in his company, at least I did.

Gerard has a brother a priest in the Dublin archdiocese.
