‘Gay people should not join Catholic clergy, Pope Francis says’

This is a headline in a piece in today’s Guardian.

Read down through the piece and it does not seem to say exactly that.

But if that is what Pope Francis does say, would it be possible for a diocese or a religious congregation to remain viable or solvent?
