How does a billionaire increase/maintain their portfolio? They influence politics and law-making:
1. Example:
Over the past decade, Bill Gates (2nd richest person) has become the World Health Organization’s second biggest donor, second only to the United States and just above the United Kingdom.
Some health advocates fear that because the Gates Foundation’s money comes from investments in big business (i.e. Coca Cola), it could serve as a Trojan horse for corporate interests to undermine WHO’s role in setting standards and shaping health policies.
2.George Soros (top 40 billionaire with approx $25B)
