Loreen Bergin RIP

Loreen Bergin has died in New York. Loreen was the wife of Joe Bergin.

Joe Bergin, from Carlow, was a pupil at Newbridge College from where he joined the Irish Province of the Dominican Order.

He worked in Trinidad and Ireland. He was prior in Pope's Quay Cork in the mid-1970s - my prior while I was a student at UCC.

He left the province, probably in the late 1980s, and later married Loreen.

Joe moved to upstate New York where he ministered as an Episcopalian priest. Some years ago he retired but still assists in his local parish.
