Former Irish ambassador to Saudi Arabia Niall Holohan compares the problems in Ukraine with Ireland.
The article appeared in yesterday's Irish Times.
Holohan also argues that there is no difference from the British relation to Ireland or the Americans in relation to Cuba.
He says it was follhardy for the EU and the US to support the overthrow of the Yanukovych government last year.
He believes joint action by Russia and the West is essential to combat jihadist Islam. That means time for Russia and the West to end sanctions and focus on common threats.

It doesn't make sense at all what he is saying, even historically!
