From time to time we get glimpses into the mindset of individuals and organisations.
It's always interesting to see how people give themselves away, especially the arrogant and self-righteous and the self-appointed too.
In recent days a number of priests have been observed breaking the travel regulations during the Covid-19 restrictions.
Men full of their own importance. Men accustomed to flouting the law. Men who try to kill the spirit under the pretence of Canon Law.
Is it not one's civil duty to report these priests to the Garda? These priests are putting the lives of so many people at risk?
"Everything they do is is done to attract attention, like wearing broader phylacteries and longer tassels." (St Matthew 23:5)
The behaviour of these priests is shameful and they should be reported to the Garda.
That's not going to happen. It never has.
And it's the arrogance that is the common thread.

Michael, what do you think of the below?

Andreas, Thank you for your comment.
It seems everything these days comes down to the battle between left and right. Everything is binary.
The National Catholic Register has links with Murdoch. It cleverly called itself that name so that it could be confused with the National Catholic Reporter. Short for both is NCR.
Sarah is far-right in his views.
It's known that the day Trump was elected US president a number of Irish priests danced for joy.
Last week Irish priests clearly broke laws introduced to combat Covid-19, others did not abide by social distancing recommendations. These same men celebrate Mass using pre-Conciliar 'techniques'.
John Watters is the darling boy of many Catholic groups with Gemma Doherty coming in a close second to him.
Andreas,
And then there is the hidden reality that covers so much within the churches. And causes great division too, but seldom a word is spoken.
Trump, Johnson, Bolsonaro, Lukashenko, Sarah, Dolan, Strickland, Burke.
And then think of the kindness and graciousness of Pope Francis, Cardinal Blase Cupich. Check out on their theology and humanity.
Follow that up with their views and opinions of re-opening society in the era of Covid-19.
You might also check out on Irish priests who have flouted the rules and regulations, mandatory and advisory.
I came across that text today and wanted to add it to the conversation above:
"If you call me a corona denier because I point out that the sars cov 2 virus has never been isolated and the PCR test can neither identify the single sars cov virus nor can it indicate its viral load, then I like to be a corona denier.
If you call me right-wing extremist because I stand for human dignity, human rights and fundamental rights; for the fact that all people all over the world could be happy, content and develop themselves, and that they could be given the opportunity to feel appreciated in their being, then I like to be right-wing extremist.
If you call me a conspiracist because I can clearly show the connection between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the WHO, the pharmaceutical industry and the media, then I like being a conspiracist.
If you call me an anti-vaccinationist because I am concerned that people could suffer harm if 7 billion of them were given an unvalidated and completely untested vaccine, then I am happy to be an anti-vaccinationist.
If you call me heartless because I insist that relatives should visit their sick family members in hospital, then I am happy to be heartless.
If you call me a dreamer because I know that we are all one, that we are love, whether black, white, right, left, Swiss, American, German, etc. Homo, hetero, woman, man, man, old, young and that we will all soon be able to recognize this and go together into a happy future, then I like to be a dreamer.
But if you think that I will not stand up for what my heart tells me just because you give me these labels, then I have to disappoint you."

It's a pity the comment is anonymously posted.
The link below is a piece in today's 'Guardian'. It's in answer to the comment anonymously posted.

I would love to know how Jesus would have dealt with the current issue.
Wasn't there something similar at the time with leprosy and did he disregard the strict restrictions by meeting the them?
'A leprosy sufferer (Matthew 8: 1–4) Leprosy was a common skin condition at the time of Jesus. People thought that it was a contagious disease, and this led to leprosy sufferers being treated as social outcasts. As a result there were strict instructions in Jewish scriptures to try to stop the spread of the disease.'

Andreas,
I recommend you read the link in my reply to the comment above.
Michael.
The link above is for me a prevention of a healthy democratic discussion through similar modes of reaction and speech as used during the Soviet dictatorship, where dissenters and critics of the ruling ideology and politics were accused of complicity with the capitalist West's "conspiracy theory". The critics of the "lockdown sceptics" refuse to take note of the evidenced facts!
Is it not the other way round?
And the example you give of the former Soviet Union, is that not a little extreme? In fact is it not those who are opposed to the 'lockdown' who are the extremists? They seem to be the most dogmatic. Have you been following the arrogance and bad manners of Jemma O'Doherty?
Look, the Catholic Church has not had good press in recent years (child-abuse, etc). Many people have therefore completely turned their backs on the church. They have not considered that there are also kind and helpful people in the church and that for instance the teachings of Jesus are still relevant! I hope that answers your query above!
Not every person which is critical on the corona issue is arrogant or has bad manner. But the media picks out just them and writes only about them without looking at the good arguments they have - the good arguments are swiped from the table in one stroke by putting them all into a bad light (Nazi etc).
Prof. Dr. med. Sucharit Bhakdi
[specialist for microbiology and infection epidemiology, headed the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene at the University of Mainz for 22 years]
is one of the experts (always very calm and kind and also very qualified) which wrote a letter to the German Chancellor... but like so many others being treated as per above.

Andreas, Thank you for your latest post. No one can argue with that. Every word you say is factual. I'm not sure I see the link with our current situation.
Yes, our future looks extremely bleak. Will all this end in civil unrest, might there be war? Possible. And of course there will always be the people behind the scenes. The power brokers, the dark men are always waiting for their opportunity.
It was the far right who seized the opportunity in Germany. The far right is always lurking in the shadows.
Covid-19 is a pandemic and the governments of the world have taken the advice of medical experts. There will be many who will use the opportunity to further their cause.
I presume you believe the pharmaceutical industry/conglomerate is engineering the responses of government. There is not proof for that.
I recall a good teacher often saying: 'I know nothing', Amen to that.
