Approximately two weeks ago Germany's Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party was designated as right-wing extremist by the country's Federal Office for theProtection of the Constitution.
"The ethnicity- and ancestry-based understanding of the people prevailing within the party is incompatible with the free democratic order," the Domestic Intelligence Agency said in a statement.
On Tuesday Friedrich Merz was elected in the Bundestag German Chancellor on the second vote. It is the first time in the history of the Federal Republic that a nominated candidate was not elected on the first ballot.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance accused Germany of behaving in a tyrannical manner. The Germans immediately replied, informing the US authorities that the Germans well know the evils of right-wing regimes.
These are worrying times for Germany without the United States interfering and getting it so wrong. in Germany’s internal affairs.
