On every footpath, at every corner there were children heading to school this morning. Some walking, others cycling, more being carried on a bicycle by a parent and just one to be seen on a foot-scooter.
That's how it looked across Dublin City this morning between 08.15 and 08.50. And that was probably the advance guard.
Of course there were those in cars too but they made no stir on the city this morning. They could not be seen inside the metal.
And even a 'Lolly-Pop-Man guiding children across the road could be seen at a school near Donore Avenue.
All the infrastructure we simply take for granted.
When the school starters among those youngsters heading to school today become parents it's most likely I'll be dead. Maybe not. Who knows? Not even the theologians.
