Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary’s description of rival airlines, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa and BA as “high-fare rapists” has rightly landed him in hot water.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has accused him of trivialising sexual violence, something which hurts victims.
“These are lazy and uninformed comments. It feels like Mr O’Leary is chasing soundbites with no regard for how they may affect people,” she said.
Earlier in the week Michael O'Leary claimed the passenger, who was injured as a result of a window collapsing on a Ryainair flight, no part of the man's body was sucked out through the window. The matter is in the courts. Below is the story carried in the Guardian newspaper.
The time may come for Mr O'Leary when he realises not all publicity is good publicity. Maybe the sooner the better.
