The great feast of the Ascension of the Lord

Apologies for the nonappearance of today’s blogpost. Due to a technical issue the posting simply disappeared.

Maybe it was the work of the gods or an angel protecting the writer. The piece was about comments the late Bishop David Jenkins made about today’s feast. He said that had he had a video camera at the time of the Ascension he did not believe he would have captured the event on his machine.

Today’s feast has to be taken in the context of the Resurrection, next Sunday’s feast of Pentecost and the following Sunday, which is the feast of the Holy Trinity.

All these feasts are linked to the idea of a loving community.
