Germany is cutting the brench which it sits on.
"Deutschland schafft sich ab!"
The phrase "Deutschland schafft sich ab" was used by Thilo Sarrazin in 2010 as the title for a book which was the first successful attempt to bring toxic popularist themes, like hostility to migrants, Islamophobia, blanket slamming of 'elites', etc., into the mainstream of public discourse in Germany.
