A pompous church

What is it about the Catholic Church and pomposity.

Below is an excerpt from notification of a talk to be given this evening in the Dominican Priory on Dublin's Dorset Street.

When is it a talk and when a symposium?

Really, it is all nonsense, people giving themselve a level of importance that is simply laughable. And every day the people see this and are speaking with their feet.

No doubt the bad weather may mean the cancellation of the talk. Could one say that the Holy Spirit works in strange ways?

Symposium – Priesthood and the Extraordinary Minister of Sacred Ordination
Fr Gerard Deighan, MA SSL, Adm of St Kevin’s, Harrington Street.

It's called weather; there is nothing spookie or supernatural about it.
