Bishop Eamon Walsh talks on mercy in Pope Francis

Bishop Eamon Walsh gave the first of Lenten lectures in Ballyboden Parish last evening.

He spoke on the topic of mercy in the thoughts of Pope Francis.

Three quotes.

When we cease to worship, God we worship everything.

If you distil mercy out of justice and right, you have self-destruction.

God's mercy is not a decree, more like a caress.

What about caressing some of the silenced priests then?

Words come easy, no matter how eloquent.

Bishop Walsh was asked a question on that subject and answered in a most sympathetic way in relation to the priests involved.

A start I suppose.

But where are the other bishops?

They really are a craven lot and the couldn't care less, I'm alright Jack, attitude of the Nuncio is no help.
