Remembering the shooting of Kevin O’Higgins

On this day, July 10, 1927 Kevin O’Higgins TD, vice-president of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State was assassinated by the IRA.

O’Higgins was on the pro-Treaty side in the Civil  War. He signed the execution orders of 77 prisoners. In a revenge act he was shot by the IRA in Booterstown.
