Trump, Azar and McEnany make a show of themselves

US President Donald Trump, stood on the White House lawn yesterday flanked by his Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar and his new press officer, Kayleigh McEnany.

All three spent the time engaging with the press by criticising their opponents, including former President Barack Obama.

All three were nasty, rude and mean, with Trump leading with the insults.

Both Azar and McEnany are talented, accomplished people. Mc Enany, is without doubt, a suave operator and the best press secretary Trump has had. But why does she have to insult people in the Trump mode? Yesterday she hurled insults at former president, Obama.

Alex Azar viciously attacked the latest Trump whistleblower Dr Dr Rick Bright.

Trump and his team are sounding more and more absurd. Unfortunately they are creating a 'new normal'.

All three, on the manicured lawn of the White House, with a presidential chopper nearby, behaved like street fighters.

What other world leader spends so much energy and time insulting people?

The piece below is from yesterday's Guardian and a great read. Irish journalist, Fintan O'Toole gets a mention.

  1. The President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina has called on all African Nations to quit the World Health Organization (WHO).

Should the world just let them go their own way? Are there really no alternatives to a pharmacutical high profit cure we are desperately looking for?

  2. Andreas,
    Thank you.
    This appears on Wikipedia.

In April and May 2020, President Rajoelina drew media attention when he launched an untested coronavirus "cure" dubbed "Covid-Organics" The herbal tea was developed by the Madagascar Institute of Applied Research (MIAR) using artemisia and other locally-sourced herbs. The military distributed batches of "Covid-Organics" to the public. Drinking the herbal tea is obligatory in school.
Several African countries including Tanzania, Liberia, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau have purchased the herbal tea. However, the National Academy of Medicine of Madagascar (ANAMEM) voiced its skepticism, while the World Health Organization (WHO) cautioned that there was no proof for any coronavirus cure at the time of Covid-Organic's launch. The African Union has sought to test the technical efficiency of the herbal tea.
