Into the last week of the election campaign.
The opinion polls are telling us that both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are losing support and that Sinn Féin is drawing level with Fianna Fáil.
We have had numerous political debates, reams of analysis.
Has anyone learned anything? Has anyone said anything worth learning?
How many voters enter the polling booth still undecided how to vote?
Might some foreign power be meddling in our election?
Is this democracy?
What would happen if a politician told a television or radio moderator to cop on and behave in a proper and mannerly fashion? What would happen if a politician took the hump and walked off a debate?
Add to her or his popularity? Who knows.
