A former prisoner speaks out

Former prisoner Jack Hill was interviewed on Channel 4 news last evening.

He spoke of the dreadful conditions of prison life in the UK. 

‘Prisoners are sent to prison as punishment, not to be punished,' he said.

He described in graphic terms the filth of his prison, regularly seeing rats.

Sanitary conditions were appalling and at times insects in the food.
